I’m grateful to live and practice on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabeg, and the Wendat peoples, which remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. The lands known as Toronto are covered by Treaty 13, or the Toronto Purchase, with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. I hold this acknowledgement as part of an ongoing commitment to anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care that is grounded in reflection, accountability, and ongoing learning and unlearning about the historical and continuing impacts of colonization.
